A building complex providing infrastructure, orientation, and information to the visitors of the Bükk National Park and those interested in the sights of the area, referring in its name to the world-famous Szeleta Cave nearby. We considered it highly important to design a building that would be iconic but moderate, in harmony with the locale and easy to remember. Although we planned several openings in the building, the construction reamins somewhat introverted with regards to the location of the main functions. The wall structure has a soil-concrete character that recalls the results of soil mechanics measurements – this effect can be achieved with a pigmented crust of special concrete. This specific visual element symbolizes the real geological stratification characteristic of the Bükk Mountains. The additional glazed roof structures look like crystals, pointing to the main constituents of Bükk limestone.
