The thematic spaces of the exhibition have been designed to highlight volcanic activities from both geo-historical and human historical perspectives: volcanos are destructive, yet often also beneficial, and they have played decisive roles in the four-and-a-half-billion-year-long history of the earth. The Discoverer room, which was inspired by the Wunderkammer, offers visitors palpable experiences; the Volcano room analyzes volcanos and is thus also a treasure chest full of various materials and shapes, minerals and rocks. The Solar System room has a spaceship simulator which takes visitors to volcanos on faraway planets, and in the Simulation room we find eruptions and lava. The Theatre demonstrates the dual nature of volcanos: they both destroy and create. The volcanic activities in the Carpathian Basin are illustrated by a 3D map, followed by an up-to-date presentation of the panorama of Ság hill. Each corner, wall, and cabinet of the building bears information, contributing to the unique time-space dynamics of moving around in it.
